The School of Information and Communication Studies (SICS) is proud to celebrate three of its own; Prof. Monica Danquah-Mensah, Prof. Patience Emefa Dzandza Ocloo, and Prof. Johnson De-Graft Dei  who were among eight faculty members honoured with promotion to the rank of Associate Professor at the College of Education's 3rd Pen Ceremony.

The ceremony, held at the Great Hall on 9th September 2026, brought together faculty, staff, and University leadership to celebrate academic excellence and reaffirm the College's commitment to impactful research, scholarship, and staff development.

Delivering the keynote address, Guest Speaker Prof. Anna Lartey charged the honourees to build lasting academic legacies, mentor the next generation of scholars, and uphold the highest standards of integrity in their work. She reminded them that:

"Your pen must speak with authority, with integrity, with truth and with respect."

For SICS, this recognition is a proud milestone that reflects the depth of scholarship and dedication within the School. Prof. Danquah-Mensah, Prof. Ocloo, and Prof. De-Graft Dei join a growing community of academic leaders at the School whose research and teaching continue to shape the fields of communication and information studies.

The School extends its heartfelt congratulations to all eight new Associate Professors honoured at the ceremony, and especially to its own Prof. Monica Danquah-Mensah, Prof. Patience Emefa Dzandza Ocloo, and Prof. Johnson De-Graft Dei.
