Media Convergence in Ghana

Time: 08:30 am
Time Range
08:30 am ~ 05:00 pm
Venue: La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra

On the 29th of April, 2026, Wednesday morning, the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra will become the epicenter of a national conversation on the future of media. The Africa Media Bureau (AMB), in collaboration with the University of Ghana’s School of Information and Communication Studies, is bringing together voices from across the industry to explore how traditional media can thrive in a digital-first era.

Under the theme “The Future of Media Practice, Education and Policy in Ghana”, the conference will challenge broadcasters, journalists, educators, and policymakers to rethink the role of radio, television, and print in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. With the support of leading sponsors such as MTN, Hubtel, Margins Group, and GCB, the event promises not only dialogue but also actionable strategies for shaping the next generation of media professionals.

From the microphone that carries the nation’s stories, to the remote control that connects households to global narratives, to the newspaper that documents history in print; the symbols of media converge here. This gathering is more than an event; it is a turning point, a reimagining of how Ghana’s media can remain relevant, resilient, and revolutionary in the digital age.
